Dr. Fernando Ramirez Gomez graduated from The University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, with a focus in Biology. He received his Medical Degree from the Ponce School of Medicine & Health Sciences University and, completed his transitional residency at the Hospital Episcopal San Lucas/Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico. During his residency, Dr. Ramirez was the Chief Resident of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Program, where he received extensive training in minimally invasive surgery, including extensive clinical and surgical exposure in Gynecological Oncology, Urogynecology/Pelvic Reconstruction, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Reproductive Endocrinology. Additionally, he received training in High-Risk Obstetrical care, Laparoscopic surgery, and Robotic Surgery. In Puerto Rico, Dr. Ramirez championed for and successfully integrated significant changes in the medical education graduate program of the Puerto Rican Health System. Dr. Ramirez became licensed to practice medicine in Texas in 2016, is a member of the American Medical Association, ACOG, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Ramirez is a strong proponent of limiting C-Sections unless medically necessary and minimizing medicinal intervention during delivery.
Dr. Ramirez resides in Brownsville with his wife, Roxana, and their two children.
